Setting up a web site
can be a rather daunting task! This guide is intended to
clarify the steps involved in planning, designing, creating
and promoting your web site.
Step
One - Sign Up!
Visit our "Rates"
page and choose the package and options that best suit your
needs - or - fill out our Online
Consultation Request Form so that we can assist you in
choosing the best package to suit your needs. A deposit of
50% is due and payable before work will commence. For your
convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard and PayPal, as well
as payment by International Money Order. All fees are in US
currency.
Step
Two - Temporary Page Goes Up
Once we have received your
order form and deposit, we will secure a domain name for
your business and set up a temporary page for you on our web
server, with complete contact information and a brief
summary about your business. At this point, we will also
create your site's meta tags and perform an initial
submission to the major search engines to help you get a
jump start on traffic. This gives you an active web presence
until we have completed your web site.
Step Three - Planning
Print up our Web Site Planning Guide and
Checklist, which will help you to provide us with everything
we need to begin the design process. Just follow these
simple instructions, and then send your package to us,
either by mail or e-mail.
Step Four - Design Consultation
Once we receive your
complete information package, we will call or e-mail you to
collaborate on a design plan. You may have a theme in mind
for your site, or colors/textures that you find particularly
appealing. You may have preferences about the navigational
structure for the site. We'll consult with you, then provide
a few design examples for you to choose from on your own
personal "preview" site.
Step
Five - Site Structure
Using the information you
have provided in your site planning guide, we will set up
the various "pages" in your site. We start with a
"skeleton", then add text, photos, internal and external
links, forms, scripts and other elements as previously
agreed upon.
Step
Six - Client Review
Once we have finished
adding the various site elements, we will contact you and
ask you to go through the preview site and let us know if
there are any errors or omissions. You are welcome to
preview the site throughout the design process, but we do
ask that you refrain from requesting changes until the site
is finished and we ask you to preview it. This method makes
the process go quickly and efficiently, and reduces any
redundancy, since we often notice and fix small problems
before we ask for your final review.
Step
Seven - Grand Opening
Once you give us the
go-ahead, your new web site will be published to your domain
on our server. At this point, the site is "live" and can be
viewed by anyone who has your web site address. Once
published, we resubmit the site to the search engines, which
gives you an extra "boost" in traffic. It generally takes
between 6 weeks and 3 months before the search engines index
you, so be patient!
Step Eight - Final Modifications
Once the site is up and running, you have up to 14 days from
the publishing date to request any final minor changes. Any
changes requested after this 14 day window will be
considered as an "update", and will count towards your
complimentary updates as included in your annual package.
Step Nine - Final Payment Due
Final payment of the balance of your web site package is due
and payable within 14 days of the site being published to
your domain. Clients must print and mail in a signed
acknowledgement of our Terms of Service, an important form
which is included in our Web Site Planning Guide and
checklist.
Updates
You can request an update by visiting our
Client Care
section and filling out the Update Request Form. Any updates
requested in excess of the number of complimentary updates
or pre-paid updates in your annual package, are subject to a
modest fee of $10 - $40, depending on the size and scope of
your request. Our rates are $40 per hour, billed in 15
minute increments, and with a minimum charge of $10.
Add Ons
You can request to have additional services such
as a new page, or an additional update session added to your
annual package at any time. To request this, just visit our
Client Care section
and fill out our New Services Request Form.
Technical Support
To report problems with
your web site, please visit our
Client Care section and
fill out our Problem Notification Form. Our staff will
respond to you as quickly as possible during business hours.
Annual Billing
You will receive a renewal invoice for your
annual fees by e-mail, 60 days prior to the annual
anniversary of your sign-up date. We require 30 days written
notice to cancel your account. Payment must be received on
or before the anniversary date to ensure continued service.
A reactivation fee of $50 will be applied to any accounts
that are deactivated for non-payment.
Referral Rewards Program
We reward our clients for referring their friends
and associates to us. If you know someone in need of web
site services, please pass on our name to them. We will
provide you with a free month of service, a free update
session or a free search engine submission session for every
new client that you send to us.
